Hallcon Breaks Ground on Largest EV Fleet Charging Facility in Washington

On July 22, 2025, Hallcon Corporation broke ground on its newest Electric Vehicle Operations Center (EVOC) in Redmond, Washington. As the largest 24/7 EV fleet charging facility in the state, the Redmond EVOC represents a major step toward sustainable transportation infrastructure and responds to the increasing demand for clean mobility solutions across the Puget Sound region.

Spanning nearly four acres, the site will house 60 high-capacity charging ports powered by more than 5 megawatts of energy. The facility will be capable of charging over 300 vehicles per day, including motorcoaches and shuttle buses. To support continuous operations even during outages, the site will include 1.5 megawatts of backup power. When fully operational, the EVOC is expected to eliminate up to 25,000 tons of carbon emissions annually, comparable to taking thousands of gas-powered vehicles off the road.

“Partnering with Hallcon on their EV Operations Center exemplifies our dedication to accelerate sustainable transportation,” said Aaron August, SVP, Chief Customer and Transformation Officer at Puget Sound Energy. “Initiatives like this are essential to achieving Washington State’s ambitious clean energy goals while delivering lasting environmental and economic benefits to the communities we serve.”

“This project is about more than just power, it’s about enabling a shift to cleaner fleets across the region,” said Hallcon leadership during the ceremony. “By building smart, scalable infrastructure, we’re helping our clients make the transition to zero-emissions transportation in a way that’s reliable and cost-effective.”

The Redmond EVOC will be built in phases, allowing Hallcon to scale operations based on client needs and local demand. In addition to physical infrastructure, the site will provide advanced EV analytics and command center services to manage and optimize fleet operations throughout the region.

Hallcon’s new center is purpose-built for fleet customers and will offer valet-style charging along with vehicle staging services. The site will also create approximately 50 new green jobs in the Redmond area, contributing to the local economy while supporting a cleaner, more efficient transportation system.

These jobs are indicative of how the EV revolution is revitalizing America’s economy, and how states are moving forward in these important projects, despite a disappointing lack of federal leadership.

Well-respected Washington State Senator Vandana Slatter, who has a very impressive record faithfully representing the 48th Legislative District, also celebrated the groundbreaking.

“Supporting electrification and clean mobility is essential to achieving Washington’s ambitious climate goals. Hallcon’s leadership exemplifies what can be accomplished when private investment aligns with public purpose, paving the way for a cleaner, more sustainable future for our communities.”

The facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025 and will serve as a model for similar EVOC projects across North America.
